Kiss Kill Love Him Still
Dawn Rae Miller & Jamie Blair

Release Date: November 10th 2015

Jackson Landis kept secrets. It’s how he got girls into bed, the grades he wanted, and a reputation for being the life of the party.

But now he’s dead, and no one knows how or why. Especially not the four girls whose secrets he protected. Secrets so scandalous they could cause each girl to lose something valuable. Secrets so dark, someone may have killed for them.

The four girls – a campus drug dealer, an overweight bookworm, a closeted lesbian, and a spoiled princess have one thing in common – they’re terrified the things Jackson knew may not have died with him. As Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie try to piece together her own role in Jackson’s death, each girl realizes Jackson had some not-so-pretty skeletons of his own.

Which makes a girl wonder, who really wanted Jackson Landis dead?

About the Author

michelle k. pickett

I can’t write without a hoodie. Yeah, I live it Texas. We all have our quirks.

I majored in accounting in college. I was required to declare a major, but I had no clue what I wanted to do, so I picked accounting because it was the first thing listed in the booklet the counselor gave me. Surprisingly, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Go figure.

Forget coffee. Hand over the Red Bull or Monster Khaos and no one gets hurt. Seriously, just set it down and step away. I will turn into a normal human after I guzzle my can of caffeine.

I hate to cook, but love to watch cooking shows on television.

I paint my nails weird colors just to see my husband roll his eyes and make my 9 year-old twin girls giggle. Oh, and mortify my 13 year-old son.

I’m a hopeful romantic and love swoon-worthy endings that keep the butterflies going for days, but I don’t believe a HEA always ends with the boy getting the girl. Sometimes a HEA is an ending we don’t see coming, but is still best for the characters.

I write across genres in the young adult and new adult age groups while eating way too many peanut butter M&Ms (but we’ll keep that second part just between us).

I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, but now live in a suburb of Houston, TX with my very supportive family, a 125lb rescue “puppy” and a 12lb attack cat, also a rescue animal.

And last, (but certainly not least), I love my family with everything in me. Everything I am, is theirs. There are no words in any language known to man to describe my love for them. They are my center.

I’d love to hear from you. So drop me an email! Let’s chat. You tell me what you like in books, what you’d like to see happen in the writing community, what type of books you like to see more of…less of—I want to hear it all! So tell me, please. Because the one thing I wish I could put on my list, but I still haven’t figured out how to do, is mind-reading. But don’t tell my kids. I still have them fooled. 🙂

Always Second Best

Broken Dreams
Book #2

Elodie Nowodazkij

Genre: Young Adult Romance
Release Date: October 13, 2015

Synopsis:

Sometimes being first isn’t what you expected.

Seventeen-year-old ballerina Emilia Moretti is tired of always being second best. And she’s going to prove the world she deserves to be first. In her upcoming School of the Performing Arts showcase. In the eyes of her birth parents. And in the heart of the guy she loves. She spends hours rehearsing, hours dreaming about becoming number one, hours imagining how her entire life is about to change. But when nothing goes the way she planned, she’ll need to realize what it really means to be first.

Eighteen-year-old Nick Grawski doesn’t want to follow Daddy Dearest’s rules any longer. He’s going to prove he’s meant to be a dancer—not a lawyer—and he is not going to stay away from Em just because his father demands it. He needs to show Em that—this time around—he’s there to stay and that he won’t break her heart again. Even when her world goes down to shit, even when he finds out his dad may have been trying to protect him all along, even if being there for one another is harder than falling in love.

ALWAYS SECOND BEST is a novel of hope and heartbreak and broken dreams. It’s a novel about falling in love and discovering that being first isn’t always what matters.

Reap Book Blitz Character Interview and Giveaway!

Posted on Updated on

Release Date: October 11, 2013

Summary from Goodreads:

Foreign, or rather unfamiliar, would be the word I would use to describe how I felt.

Faintly, I could hear the glimmer of voices surrounding me in this dark haze, caressing my ears like skin against silk. I felt like I was in a cocoon of sorts, protectively enveloped, quietly drifting in some far-off place. I wanted to stay that way forever. But we all know that what you want never really seems to happen in the real world.

Something’s not right in Mia’s head.

The first thing is that her name isn’t Mia. In fact, she has no clue what her name is—who she is. All that she knows is that she’s not like the ones who found her: Dante with his kind blue eyes, Amy with her child-like demeanor, James with his questioning gaze.

And Briggs.

The one she cannot decipher no matter how hard she tries.

As Mia tries to fit in with these people, a strange occurrence is amidst outside. And as she finally remembers who she is …

Well, let’s just say that things get a little more complicated.

Character Interview: Amy Nolan

Christina: Alright, guys! Another day, another interview. Today I bring
in the lovely Amy Nolan. She busted free from the confines of her apartment building,
courtesy of three brawny dudes, and she’s here to chat with us. Hi, Amy!
Amy: Hi! Sooooo happy to be here. I can’t even contain myself.
Christina: I can see that, Amy. You can’t seem to sit still.

Amy: Sorry.

Christina: That’s okay. No need to pout. Let’s get on with some
questions, the very reason you’re here. People want to get to know a bit about
you.
Amy: That’s amazing, I love people! Ask away, ask away.
Christina: Okay. Let’s start easy. What’s your favorite color?
Amy: Pink, of course. Every shade imaginable.
Christina: How about music?
Amy: I love Adele, Christina (you and her have the same name, you know)
and Florence (everybody should love
Florence). Oh, and Maroon 5. That Adam is dreamy…
Christina: That he is. What about your favorite show?
Amy: Glee! The Bachelor and the Bachelorette. Basically anything that
involves love and singing.
Christina: Twilight or Vampire Diaries?
Amy: Twilight! They’re so much friendlier, don’t you think?
Christina: Right, Amy, dear. I hear you like to bake and made a business
out of it. What’s your favorite cupcake?
Amy: Oh, that’s easy. Vanilla cupcake with white chocolate chips and
macadamia nuts, topped with coconut shavings. Mmm, I want one right now…
Christina: I’m right there with you on that. How about you make some
when you’re done?
Amy: I would love to.
Christina: Yum … I mean, great! Next question: What’s your favorite
fashion accessory?
Amy: My choker, of course. It’s a gift from my wonderful friend, James.
He’s a dreamboat, let me tell you.
Christina: I bet he is. Dog lover or cat lover?
Amy: Kittens! They are the cutest thing ever. I met a girl with eyes
just like a kitten’s. I even named her. Mia. Sounds almost like, meow.
Christina: You named a … girl?
Amy: Yeah. I know, sounds crazy. But it’s a long story.
Christina: Right. Well, that seems to be all the questions I have for
you today. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Amy: Can I do it again sometimes? I can even bring Dante and James. I
don’t know about Briggs though.

Christina: Absolutely, Amy. Wait! Before you go, about those cupcakes…

Star-Crossed Cover Reveal!

Posted on Updated on

Release Date: January 2014

Summary:

Secrets
Deception
Lies
…Lust.

It started with a game – seduce the new teacher.

Eighteen-year-old Kaitlyn Laurent is living the American Dream. Born into a wealthy, socialite family with more opulent surroundings and material things than any girl could even fathom, Kaitlyn is the fresh, young face amidst a sea of morally-amiss Manhattan Debutantes. She is educated, poised, and on the outside – entirely virtuous. Her life, in short, is perfect.

Or so it would seem.

Inside the walls of her Upper East Side mansion, Kaitlyn is struggling. After her parents’ divorce and her father’s remarriage to a beautiful but otherwise utterly vapid woman, Kaitlyn quickly finds herself living in a realm of self-created fantasy, completely detached and entirely clashing with her new family – particularly, her classmate-turned-stepbrother, Marius. Arrogant and with a penchant for playing games, he is intrigued and infatuated by Kaitlyn’s faux-chaste outer facade that she uses to cover an otherwise calloused heart.

When the two of them enter into into their final semester at Trinity Prep, and the buzz around campus is that a gorgeous new teacher has set foot in the classroom, Marius makes Kaitlyn a bet: seduce the man who is now her Literature teacher.

If she wins, she gets his trust fund. Money that she can use to finally escape a life that she has come to loathe.

If Marius wins…he gets her virginity.

When an initial spark turns into full-blown obsession, and her affections are inevitably returned – Kaitlyn learns that there are no actions without consequence, and some affairs are simply star-crossed.

“Okay, I’m done. Now hurry!” the makeup artist cried out. “You’re up in two minutes.

Don’t you dare mess up your makeup again!”

Maude ran out, keeping her hands away from her recently rouged cheeks, and Matt

hurried behind her.

She stood right behind the curtain and listened to the host’s cheerful voice, announcing

her.

“Now ladies and gentlemen, we have a new artist with us tonight. She’s spent her last

six months in New York working on her first album. Her first single has been released and is

a huge hit . . .”

“Maude,” Matt whispered, tugging her sleeve.

“Yes?” She looked back at him, smiling.

“I just wanted to tell you . . . to let you know that you can always count on me.”

“I know, Matt,” Maude smiled gratefully.

“Her voice will take your breath away, her music is amazing . . . ”

“No, I’m serious. Our friendship has had its ups and downs, but I don’t want it to be that

way anymore.”

Maude nodded.

“I don’t care if you’re with Thomas Bradfield. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”

Maude paused, puzzled. “What? Thomas Bradfield—”

“Give a round of applause for Maude Laurent!” the host cried.

“That’s your cue! Go!” Matt urged.

Maude reluctantly turned away from Matt and hurried on stage.

The blaring lights blinded her as she entered the stage and faced the cheering crowd.

She had to restrain her impulse to shield her eyes and continued steadily towards the dark

Steinway.

She had played on it earlier but then, she hadn’t felt nervous. Her hands hadn’t been

trembling, and her voice hadn’t been shaky.

Maude sat on the piano stool and looked towards the crowd.

They were all there.

Excerpt From ‘When Stars Die’

“You know the rules, Olly. You know how things are supposed to be between us. It’s worse for nuns, especially. You’ll just be given a slap on the hand, but I’ll be exiled.” I close my eyes, soaking in the reality of the implications we toss between each other. “Nothing but this can ever exist between us, Oliver.”

His eyes fall to the scuffed floor. “Not even in secret?”

“Not even in secret. So whatever we feel about each other, we just have to ignore.”

He frowns. “Like we’ve been doing this whole time, Amelia? I just can’t do that, seeing you every day, with your hair, your eyes, your smile.” He turns away, his cheeks flushing a light purple, a peculiar color for a blush, but his blush, nonetheless.

“Would you rather be my friend, or not have me at all, because if you can’t control yourself, then it will have to be the latter.”

Oliver says nothing and starts down the tight corridor of shuttered classrooms and study areas. Not a soul breathes behind them–only the knowledge of Cathedral Reims exists behind those doors when no one occupies those rooms. From day one, those rooms contain everything anyone in the Professed Order ever needs to know and nothing else. We don’t need to know anything else, certainly not about feelings or being human.

We make it halfway down the corridor, when Oliver stops me again. “Since nothing can ever happen between us, can I at least kiss you?”

I raise my eyebrow, an intense heat blossoming in my stomach that threatens to seep under every edge of me. “What will kissing do? If you like it, you’re going to want more.”

“I just want to know what it’s like to kiss you, that’s all. And once I know, I don’t think I’ll want any more.”

I sigh, mulling over his request. I’m about to decide, when I hear a familiar pair of boots pound in the direction of the stairwell that leads to the first floor. None other than Theosodore Branch appears, bearing a jagged smile that makes me want to run to my room.
